Penelope took a while to warm up to others when she first arrived at Best Friends. Of course, if you'd been booted out like Penelope, you might be ornery too. Pignorant neighbors complained about the pot bellied pig living next to them unaware that pigs are more intelligent than dogs and cleaner when allowed to be. The lady caring for Penelope didn't want to lose her, and fought for a year trying to keep her. She didn't win, though, and Penelope came to the sanctuary.
She has a great living spot, and all kinds of things to make a pig happy, she even has warmed up to those pesky humans hanging around. Well, if it involves a nice brush or belly rub.
