Chewy is a hardy, red-dun Mustang who was captured during an Oregon Bureau of Land Management roundup. However, his life took a pretty bad turn when his people didn't feed him properly, so local animal control came to Chewy's rescue. After that, he was able to begin the next stage of his new life at Best Friends.
Chewy's a playful, athletic fellow who has blossomed under Parelli Natural Horsemanship training. He's a quick learner and very confident! Chewy's a steady trail mount whether ridden alone or with others. His Mustang heritage gives him sure footedness over uneven terrain, and he really enjoys heading out on the trails. Chewy is smart and easily bored and needs a partner who knows how to keep things interesting for him. He's an easy keeper, so lots of activity is good for him. He isn't very tall, but he's very tough, sturdy and sound. He has always gone barefoot and has wonderful feet.
